Dev. Post 5 - 11/2/2023

Hello all, I hope you're enjoying what the demo has to offer! It took me quite the amount of time to get it to the point that it's at now; personally I already had some former (very basic) understanding of how to code in the Renpy engine. Although, my education was very much self-taught and didn't have the assistance that I do now! As for the art, I've been drawing for over 13 years. Most of those years where traditional leaning while the later half is when I dove into digital art. I even got myself new equipment just to work on the game more efficiently! As for the music- still working on it! In the past I never really composed original melodies or instrumentals- mostly did vocals and covers. So my understanding of composition is limited, but it is simply just another skill I need to learn to make this game as complete as I wish it to be. To get this demo out on time I did have to scrap some scenes that would've been in the demo; but I simply didn't have enough time, wasn't satisfied with the result- or simply couldn't get it in on time. I also felt that by shaving it down, I was able to really focus on the scenes I did have coded in. The cut scenes will most likely be added in later points in the main game, or possibly kept scrapped.

As for the art, I did redraw many scenes- did revisions as needed and made sure ultimately the art reflected what was being said for most of the time. As a player of VN, my largest gripe was static scenes. If I'm able to make a scene more lively even with just noise or transition design, then I'm going to do it.

I will say for anyone stuck, or missing some dialogue or scenes:

**When playing/investigating I recommend a pad and paper to write down any details you find are important. **

****Listening to your partner and.. "behaving" is the quickest way to see the demo end screen; be naughty!****

Certain dialogue, choices, images and scenes depend on the players:

  1. Prosthetic's Health
  2. Chosen Gender
  3. Actions/inputs & questions made by the player
  4. Investigative Information The Player Discovers

"What do you mean by this?"

Well- an example of this in-game (MINOR SPOILERS BELOW):

The player can question a bartender when out with their partner. With this information from the bartender, it'll prompt the player's character to second guess what their partner is saying and lead to a different scenario playing out.

So far, I'm very pleased with the numbers this game has been pulling in from just being out for 3 days! If you'd love to see this game suceed then don't hesitate to share it with your friends, add it to collections and share it on social media like TikTok, Youtube, Instagram etr! If you do stream/record the game and post about it; all ask is that you link the game in the description (and email me a link to the video, I'd love to watch genuine reactions and hear critique!
